Went to the Winnipeg Folk Festival on Sunday with some of the best weather I've ever experienced in the second weekend in July. It was our little girls first. She was overwhelmed by the huge crowd and the strange sights of costumed people on stilts. She didn't nap at all and when we finally decided to leave at 6 PM she promptly passed out the minute we pulled the wagon out of the trees into the parking lot. I'm glad the blanket was there to catch her as we didn't notice her comatose body for the first twenty feet or so.
I hope she enjoyed her first Folk Fest experience.

Winnipeg Folk Fest
Vehicles were linded up all the way to Hwy 59 throughout the morning as campers made their way into the festival campground for the 35th annual Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Hello squirrel
A close-up of a Eurasian Red Squirrel while at the zoo. It was sleeping until I desided to take its photo so I guess I'm now on its list of enemies along side the Eastern Grey Squirrel. Good thing its behind bars at the zoo.

Wild Roses
The roses have started to bloom in the forest and I was reminded of the day when my own first rose bush produced its delicate flowers. Then I remembered that was the bush we pulled out this spring because after seven years of bad light and spindly branches it was time. I will have to dig through me photos and find that first rose. It was truly on of the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen.
